Sunbeam Alpine Owners Club Stand
NEC Restoration Show Birmingham 2017
Run by Leicestershire South West Area.
This is now the 4th year that we have taken part in the Practical Classic Restoration Show, again we had one of the largest single make car club stands displaying 6 Alpines. This included a barn find, a 20 year project nearing completion and the Car SOS finished example.
Our main aim was to get Mick Jaggards Series 3 Harrington as close to a finished car as possible. We managed to complete all major mechanical work, and at about 2pm on the Sunday had it running for the first time in over 20 years. I’ve listed below some of the work done at the show
Starter motor fitted, Dynamo fitted , exhaust fitted, prop fitted, clutch master and slave cylinders fitted and bled, brake master cylinder fitted, rear drums completely overhauled, front disk piped up, several copper brake pipes renewed, brakes bled, petrol tank fitted and plumb in, carbs fitted and linkage fitted, Radiator fitted and all new hoses, new wheel hubs fitted and wire wheels installed and lastly both doors fitted and adjusted.
This barn find is Jason Wilkinsons Series 2it will be a future shows project !!!!
I might be busy that year!!!
We all must thank Ray and Jackie Blackwell for letting us display their wonderfully restored series 1 Alpine. This was an amazing crowd puller, hopefully lifting the profile of the brand and club which must be a good thing.
This was posted on face book after the show it was nice to think we put on a good display
Lastly I must thank Terry Newell without his help these shows wouldn’t be anywhere near as good, I’d also like to thank all the Alpiners that helped out on the stand over the weekend and made it a great experience for us and the general public.
Thanks again for everyone's help
